Our main purpose is to provide hurricane relief to the entire Gulf Coast. Our founders were victims of Hurricane Katrina from Bay St. Louis, MS. Founder Erin Akey's home was reduced to a slab when Katrina's eye came ashore in 205.
HOME OF ERIN AKEY AFTER KATRINA
Erin Akey was transferred to Mobile, AL where she met and married her husband Ben following Katrina. Since then they have both realized that it is their calling to assist others who are going through wh
at Erin and her children went through. .
Ben stood by Erin through failed insurance battles, tears, digging through remains, and everything else that comes along with losing everything you own.
They both feel like the Gulf Coast needs to band together to help each other whenever these storms strike. They have formed this organization in an effort to mobilize the resources here on the Gulf Coast so that those in need are not waiting on our government to do their damage assessments etc. when disaster strikes.
They always focus on the smaller coastal towns in hardest hit areas that typically receive the worst damage and the least media attention.
What began as 1 trip to pay it forward back in 2008 when Gustav struck Louisiana, turned into a non-profit and 9 trips to both LA and TX in the wake of Gustav and Ike.
